HELP MAKE BRISTOL THE CITY THAT SOLVES HOMELESSNESS

An initiative from Bristol BID in partnership with Caring in Bristol

What is TAP for Bristol?

TAP for Bristol is an initiative from Bristol BID, providing safe & convenient ways of giving money to help solve homelessness in Bristol, ensuring that all donations go directly to those that need it.

You’ll find TAP for Bristol contactless donation points, located in the windows of cafes & bars and in offices around the city centre, allowing you to make a simple & secure donation of £3 per tap, using your contactless card or mobile. But if you’d prefer, you can also donate directly from your salary or via Just Giving, so you can choose whatever works best for you.

However you choose to donate, all funds are managed by Quartet Community Foundation (Registered Charity No. 1080418).

Why donate to TAP for Bristol

Helping to solve Bristol’s homelessness relies on our city’s ability to support long-term prevention programmes tackling systemic issues around homelessness.

Early intervention is critical to preventing homelessness, as is raising awareness about the complexities that surround homelessness.

TAP for Bristol supports new work in homelessness prevention whilst also helping those needing emergency care. Donations are divided equally between local front-line services and Caring in Bristol.

How to apply for grant funding

Funding for emergency support is available through grants for local organisations.  We are looking for charities that can distribute funds as they see fit, with some key parameters.

The project has already awarded emergency grants to a number of local charities, supporting  individuals with their move from street homelessness or temporary accommodation to long term permanent homes, or providing financial assistance with basic necessities, travel costs and mobile phones to maintain connections with their support network.

If you are a local homelessness charity that can support individuals in crisis, please get in touch with the team to find out how to apply for a grant. All funds are administered and grants are managed by Quartet Community Foundation (Registered Charity No. 1080418).
