Hidden spaces across Bristol and Bath to open this spring as City Uncovered launches

Hidden spaces will open to residents and visitors this spring as part of City Uncovered, a new programme of behind-the-scenes experiences across the two cities.

City Uncovered will run in Bristol from 18–31 May, featuring more than 30 experiences. Highlights include events at the Clifton Suspension Bridge, from yoga sessions and drawing workshops to a dusk bat walk exploring the wildlife that lives around it. Elsewhere, visitors can step inside a hidden air raid shelter beneath St Nicholas Market, join guided wildlife safaris, or explore Bristol’s food scene through curated street food and cultural tours. Creative workshops also feature, from urban photography sessions to hands-on craft experiences at Bristol Folk House.

The programme will then launch in Bath from 1–14 June, with experiences across the city to be announced in the coming weeks.

Designed for both residents and visitors, City Uncovered encourages people to spend more time exploring the places they live in or are visiting, offering new perspectives on familiar locations. It forms part of a wider programme also launching in Birmingham and Brighton this spring.

The programme is organised by Yuup, a Bristol-based experiences marketplace working with local hosts, venues and creatives to curate experiences that reflect each city and the people who shape it. It is supported by Visit West and Bristol BID, helping to spotlight the independent businesses, venues and organisations that make the region unique.

As part of the Bristol edition, £1 from every ticket sold will be donated to TAP for Bristol, an initiative by Bristol BID. The scheme has raised more than £170,000 for local charities supporting homelessness prevention and emergency projects, with guests also able to donate when booking.

Tickets for Bristol go on sale from 28 April, with limited availability. Tickets for Bath go on sale from 12 May. Residents and visitors can now join the waitlist for early access.
