Our friendly team of 5 operatives, Tom, Simon, Richard, Martin and Tony, currently patrol the city centre in their 2 electric pump vans and scrub deck machine.

Between them they work to jet wash pavements and remove graffiti. Together they work across the whole Bristol BID area, sharing the workload. They work different rotas to ensure we have a 7-day service. The scrub deck machine works closely with the pump vans sucking up wastewater left on the street after a jet wash and removes debris and small bits of litter. This machine operates weekday mornings.

Services available to your business

The team work to improve the appearance of our city’s streets and respond to requests for cleansing and graffiti removal from the businesses. We operate in close partnership with Bristol Waste Company.

This is a service offered to levy paying businesses who can request the following services:

  • Jet wash or deep clean outside your business’ premises
  • Jet wash or deep clean of doorways
  • Graffiti removal from your business. Please note we can only remove graffiti that is up to head height, on street level, and can be accessed by our vans.

If you would like to request one of these services, please contact cleansing@bristolbid.co.uk with a photo clearly showing the location and scope of the work. We will respond efficiently to each request and arrange a time for the team to visit you.

Please note, some tags are applied in ways that make it very challenging to remove, depending on the surface material or chemical used in the paint or marker. As a result, we are not able to remove to every instance of tagging.

If your building has been tagged, we strongly encourage you to report this to the police as criminal damage. If you have CCTV footage, please include this in your report. The more reports the police receive, the more they understand the issue of graffiti in the city centre and can respond accordingly.

We are incredibly grateful to our team for the hard work they put in in all weathers early in the morning. If you see them out and about, do stop to say hello.
