Our Winter Lights illuminate Narrow Quay, Welshback, Broadmead, Union Street, the Horsefair, Baldwin Street, Temple Gardens, Victoria Street, Redcliffe Way and Broad Plain. First launched in 2021 on Victoria Street, their popularity has led to installations across multiple locations in the city.

Installed to enhance security as well as vibrancy, the lights help make Bristol’s streets feel safer after dark. By illuminating key routes, they create a welcoming environment for commuters, visitors, and residents, encouraging people to spend more time in the city centre during autumn and winter evenings.

All winter tree light installations will be switched on from 4pm to midnight each night between October and March.

COO of Bristol BID Steve Bluff, commented

“Since the lights on Victoria Street were first installed, we’ve received positive feedback from businesses and the wider community, highlighting how they have changed the look and feel of the street.”
