About Gromit Unleashed 3

Gromit Unleashed returned for its third celebration, bringing everybody’s favourite pooch, Gromit, and friends to the streets in a dazzling new arts trail with a touch of movie magic. From 30 June to 31 August 2025, Bristol was decorated with giant sculptures of Aardman’s classic characters —each lovingly crafted by talented artists, and each with a story to tell.

For the first time ever, Gromit Unleashed celebrated the world of storytelling and film with a mix of sculptures hinting at timeless fables and wonders of the big screen.

As always, Aardman’s beloved Gromit led the way, joined by his ever-inventive pal Wallace. But that’s not all! Feathers McGraw, everyone’s favourite scheming penguin, returned, bringing his mischievous flair to the trail. And making his Gromit Unleashed debut, Norbot, the new “smart gnome” who has a starring role in Wallace & Gromit’s latest adventure, Vengeance Most Fowl.

Each of these characters were reimagined in spectacular, movie-inspired designs, giving Bristol’s streets a hint of Hollywood sparkle! Think shimmering disco floors, heroic epics, and whimsical landscapes. Gromit Unleashed 3 follows the success of the award-winning Gromit Unleashed and Shaun in the City arts trail, which have generated £20million for Bristol Children’s Hospital since 2013.

Bristol City Centre BID sponsored sculpture

Bristol City Centre BID was delighted to be a sculpture sponsor for Gromit Unleashed 3.

Meet ‘Robin Hood: Prince of Cheese’, inspired by the age-old tale, Wallace was reimagined by artist Mister Hope as the justice-seeking outlaw from Sherwood Forest.

Wallace has arrived straight from the classic tale of The Merry Adventures of Robin Hood. This cheesy outlaw of Sherwood Forest is legendary for his generosity in distributing wealth to the poor. Peek into his teacup, you’ll see it’s filled with gold.

Robin Hood: Prince of Cheese, College Green from 30 June to 31 August 2025.

Redcliffe & Temple BID sponsored sculpture

Redcliffe & Temple BID was also thrilled to sponsor a sculpture for Gromit Unleashed 3.

Meet ‘Predator’, inspired by the classic film, Jaws. Feathers McGraw was reimagined by Puppet Place artists including Cat Rock, Ben Mars, Izzy B, and Alastair Fleming.

The terror of the deep, Predator, rises fast and flipperous from the ocean’s depths. His razor-sharp fin slices the surface, as his eyes lock on the target. Disguised as a shark and just as deadly, watch your toes when taking a dip.

Predator, The Square, Temple Quay from 30 June to 31 August 2025.

GROMIT UNLEASHED EVENTS

As sculpture sponsors, Bristol City Centre BID and Redcliffe & Temple BID were also excited to present a series of events in support of the city-wide Gromit Unleashed 3 trail and The Grand Appeal.

From exclusive events with sculpture artists to a Wallace & Gromit pub quiz,  Aardman model-making, and more, Bristolians had eight exciting events this summer.

ABOUT THE CAUSE

The Grand Appeal is the Bristol Children’s Hospital Charity.

Founded in 1995, the award-winning charity has raised millions to save lives and support sick children and their families at Bristol Children’s Hospital.

The Grand Appeal supports Bristol Children’s Hospital by funding pioneering, life-saving equipment and research, including ventilators, a cardiac hybrid theatre and an inter-operative MRI scanner, so that patients have access to the best possible healthcare and life-saving equipment. The charity provides free accommodation to families of critically ill patients through its three home-from-home facilities and ensures the hospital is a vibrant and child friendly place to help distract young patients through music therapy, art and play programmes and much more.
