Lunch and Learn: Borderlands

As part of our monthly volunteering series, we are partnering with Borderlands to host a Lunch & Learn exploring how we can better support people seeking sanctuary in Bristol.

Borderlands is a local charity working alongside asylum seekers, refugees and migrants with unsettled status. Since 2011, they have been helping people navigate life in the city and build a sense of belonging after often challenging journeys.

Join us for an informal, informative session where you will hear about the realities facing individuals and families seeking asylum in Bristol, and the vital role Borderlands plays in supporting them.

The team will introduce their five core projects:

·         The Welcome Centre

·         ESOL (English language) classes

·         The Mentoring Project

·         Health and wellbeing activities

·         Outreach support

You will also find out how your organisation can get involved, from practical support to volunteering opportunities and what making a difference locally can look like in practice.

Borderlands’ vision is simple but powerful: a Bristol where everyone feels safe, welcome and at home. This session is a chance to understand how we can all play a part in making that happen.
