Carmen Ceesay
Business Crime Reduction Partnership (BCRP) Manager
In December 2021, we welcomed a dedicated Police Community Support Officer (PCSO) to our team with the aim of enhancing safety in the city centre and supporting local businesses. The officer is employed by Avon & Somerset Constabulary and funded exclusively by Bristol BID.
One of the officer’s primary responsibilities is to work closely with our BID businesses to address crime and anti-social behaviour in the city centre. By actively engaging with the community, our PCSO plays a vital role in building stronger relationships among businesses, residents, and law enforcement, all working together towards the common goal of crime reduction.
Since joining our team, our officer has been incredibly proactive, making over 1000 separate engagements with more than 100 different businesses. These engagements have been in response to reports received by the police, direct requests from businesses following incidents, or to provide valuable advice and support, thus maintaining a safe and secure environment for our city centre community.
