Monthly Footfall Overview: June 2026
June saw strong growth on Victoria Street, while Broadmead footfall was impacted by the summer heatwave
Overall, June showed mixed footfall trends across Bristol’s key city centre locations. Victoria Street recorded strong growth, with footfall up 9% compared with May and 56% higher than June 2025, alongside a rise in international visitors and a higher proportion of visitors with strong spending power. Broadmead saw a 14% decrease compared with May and was 5% lower than June 2025, with the heatwave likely contributing to lower weekday footfall towards the end of the month. Saturdays remained the busiest days across both locations, with lunchtime, commuting and after-work periods continuing to drive activity.
Following our investment in Micro Location insights via O2/Virgin Media, a sensor has been installed on Victoria Street allowing us to better understand footfall trends across the city.
We also capture data through two sensors in Broadmead, installed on Broadmead East and the corner of Broadmead West and Union Street. These sensors measure passing footfall by combining AI-powered algorithms with existing camera networks.
