Bristol BID Night Rangers service re-launched with a new security provider

The service is designed to improve public safety, prevent knife crime, reduce antisocial behaviour, and support businesses during key night‑time economy hours

Provided by Wiltshire-based company CR2 Security and run by Bristol BCRP, the Night Rangers operate from 8pm to 4am on Fridays and Saturdays. The service represents a proactive and professional approach to enhancing nighttime safety and addressing violence within the night-time economy.

As Bristol continues to thrive as a vibrant hub for retail, hospitality, and nightlife, this service is a comprehensive response to the emerging challenges across the city centre. Addressing violence and anti-social behaviour, this initiative reinforces Bristol BID’s ongoing commitment to creating a safe, secure, and welcoming environment for everyone who visits, works, and lives within the community.

The presence of trained rangers during busy weekend nights will play a key role in maintaining a safe and welcoming environment for those working in the nighttime economy, particularly regarding late-night shop theft, youth crime, and related disorder. Addressing public safety, reducing antisocial behaviour, and providing reassurance to businesses, residents, and visitors, CR2’s Night Rangers are a valued component of our Business Crime Reduction Partnership.
