Global Broadmead Spotlight: Hatter House Cafe
Global Broadmead, the latest theme in our Love Bristol, Love Broadmead campaign, celebrates the businesses that bring international influences, flavours and cultures to Bristol city centre.
Throughout June and July, we’re shining a spotlight on the restaurants, cafés and retailers that help make Broadmead a diverse and vibrant destination.
One business helping to shape that story is Hatter House Café. Founded by Mohammad Kanawati and Feras Khoula, the independent café has built a loyal following by combining global flavours with Bristol’s thriving café culture in the city’s traditional shopping district.
Hatter House first opened on Clare Street in 2019 and has since expanded into Broadmead, with a third Bristol location on Park Street now open. Its growth reflects not only the popularity of the café, but also the appeal of city centre locations that bring people together.
The menu at Hatter House draws inspiration from food cultures around the world, offering specialty coffee and matcha drinks with Mediterranean and Middle Eastern-inspired dishes that customers have come to love. From freshly prepared Chicken & Rice and house-baked pastries to colourful salads, sandwiches and paninis, the café offers both a leisurely sit down experience and grab-and-go favourites. As temperatures rise, the café’s outdoor seating and range of iced matcha drinks and fruit-infused specials have become customer favourites.
Creating a welcoming and inclusive environment is central to the Hatter House ethos, with halal, vegan and vegetarian options available. The relaxed atmosphere is designed to feel like a home away from home for city centre workers, students, shoppers and visitors exploring Bristol.
Hatter House is one of many independent businesses helping to showcase the flavours and food cultures that make up Broadmead’s special blend. By bringing together influences from across the globe to the heart of Bristol city centre, the café reflects the diversity and energy that Global Broadmead celebrates.
