Bristol BID helps businesses prepare for the future of work during Learning at Work Week 2026, 18th-24th May
BID spotlights AI, leadership and workplace skills during this week’s national awareness week
Bristol Business Improvement District (BID) is helping businesses across the city prepare for the future of work during this week’s Learning at Work Week 2026, with a programme of free training sessions focused on AI, leadership, workplace resilience and professional development.
Delivered through Bristol BID’s partnership with online learning platform SeedL, the initiative gives businesses across the city free access to hundreds of live and on-demand virtual learning sessions designed to help employees and managers build confidence, develop new skills and adapt to changing ways of working.
Learning at Work Week, which runs from today, Monday 18 to Sunday 24 May 2026, is a national campaign led by Campaign for Learning celebrating the importance of lifelong learning in the workplace. This year’s theme, ‘Many ways to learn’, highlights the different ways organisations and individuals can develop skills and knowledge throughout their careers.
As part of the week, SeedL will host a dedicated programme of online sessions from Monday 18 May to Friday 22 May, covering topics including AI adoption, leadership development, workplace communication, wellbeing and practical business skills.
The SeedL platform gives Bristol BID businesses free access to more than 200 courses spanning leadership, communication, digital skills, project management and workplace wellbeing.
Reflecting the growing impact of emerging technologies on the workplace, the programme includes AI-focused sessions such as An Intro to Co-pilot, The Art of the AI Prompt and Applying AI to Support Efficiency in Your Role, helping businesses explore how AI can improve productivity and support day-to-day operations.
Leadership and workplace culture sessions including Transitioning to a Leader, Leading Change in Everyday Work and Influence Without Authority will also form part of the programme, alongside practical training covering project management, finance and digital productivity tools.
Additional sessions focused on resilience, communication and workplace wellbeing aim to support employees at every stage of their career while helping businesses build confident, adaptable and future-ready teams.
Alongside practical learning opportunities, Bristol BID is continuing to drive wider conversations around the future of work through its ongoing thought leadership events programme. Earlier this year, it hosted its Leadership in a Multi-generational Workplace event, bringing together speakers and business leaders from organisations including Airbus, Tesco, M&S, Bristol Bears Women, Sandwich Sandwich and Learning Partnership West to discuss workplace culture, inclusive leadership, employee wellbeing and evolving workforce expectations.
The event formed part of Bristol BID’s wider Future of Work programme, which explores how businesses can respond to changing workplace trends and support long-term workforce development.
Sabrina Shutter, Senior Project Events Manager at Bristol BID, said:
“Businesses are navigating significant changes around technology, leadership and employee expectations, making workplace learning more important than ever. Through our partnership with SeedL, we’re helping organisations across Bristol access flexible, practical training that supports professional development, digital confidence and workplace wellbeing. Alongside the training itself, we also want to create opportunities for businesses to come together, share ideas and feel better equipped for the future of work.”Bristol BID’s wider business support programme forms part of its long-term vision to help create a thriving, resilient and inclusive city centre economy, supporting businesses not only through placemaking and events, but through initiatives that invest in people, skills and workforce development.
